About Us

The Department of Public Health protects and promotes the health of all residents across the United Islands of Alto. The department administers public health programs, enforces health and safety regulations, and coordinates with regional health authorities on communicable disease response and environmental health matters.

Mission

To safeguard community health through prevention, education, and enforcement of public health standards across the United Islands.

Key Services

  • Food Safety: Inspection and permitting of restaurants, food trucks, and food establishments operating within the UIA.
  • Water Quality: Monitoring of drinking water quality in coordination with the Department of Water & Power.
  • Environmental Health: Inspections related to hazardous materials storage, sewage systems, and noise complaints.
  • Community Health Programs: Wellness initiatives, health education, and seasonal outreach events.
  • Animal Services: Rabies control, animal bite investigations, and coordination with APD Animal Control.
  • Vital Records: Processing of birth and death certificates for events occurring within UIA jurisdiction.
