City Attorney's Office
The City Attorney serves as the chief legal officer for the United Islands of Alto. The office provides legal counsel to the City Council, City Manager, and all city departments on matters relating to municipal law, contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Advising the City Council and city departments on legal matters
- Drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, and contracts
- Representing the city in civil litigation and administrative proceedings
- Prosecuting municipal code violations
- Reviewing and approving city agreements and real property transactions
- Advising on land use, zoning, and regulatory issues in coordination with the Planning Department
Code Enforcement
The City Attorney's Office works with city departments to enforce the Alto Municipal Code. Violations may be addressed through administrative citations, civil penalties, or court proceedings as appropriate.
