Alto DWP Customer Support

Our mission is to provide clean and reliable water and power to everyone who depends on us!

The Alto DWP wants to make sure that you are getting the best service possible from us. If there is any service disruption such as a power outage in the area, a request for service such as new installations or pole replacements, a billing question or any other advice and general feedback for us, we are always here to help!

How you can contact us

Within the City of Alto

For most of if not all of our inquiries, please call the City of Alto's inner city DWP customer service number at 456-ALTO-DWP, or simply visit the City Services Building next to Alto City Hall with your requests. You can also reach out to our chief engineer Brandon regarding anything else that urgently needs his attention. The areas that we serve inside of the city include:

  • Alto city proper, including all city neighborhoods on the main island
  • Terminal Island North and South, including Terminal City
  • Altodena
  • Alto Hills
  • Refinery City and all of Refinery Island

Our primary customer service center for within city limits is the City Services building not far from Alto City Hall. More customer service centers will open up around the City of Alto in the near future as needed by the city.

Surrounding the City of Alto

We do serve in rather remote areas of the UIA outside of Alto city limits just like the real life LADWP would in the Owens Valley of the Eastern Sierra here in California. Just like our normal customer service number for service within the city, please call our dedicated Unincorporated Island community customer service number for that area instead at 456-ADWP-UIC. The areas that we serve outside of the city include:

  • Mt. Manchester
  • Unincorporated community of Rin Valley on the vast majority of Unincorporated Island
  • Alewife
  • Alewife Heights
  • 25% of Porterville near the Alewife city line (NOT including the SCE side)
  • North and South Cape Alto that make up Cape Alto Valley
  • Unincorporated community of Cerritos Woods
  • Unincorporated community of Arthur
  • 75% of Alto Springs on the western side just before Rin Valley (the other 25% in some parts is SCE)

Customer service centers are also available in the areas surrounding the City of Alto in these following areas:

  • Alewife Heights- full service including bill pay
  • Cape Alto Valley- full service including bill pay
  • Mt. Manchester- bill pay only
  • Arthur- bill pay only

Other utilities in the UIA

The UIA is served by 2 other utilities- Southern California Edison (SCE), and Eversource. Both of these utilities are invester owned utilities (IOUs) just like in real life and are NOT managed by the City of Alto in any way.

Our version of SCE in the UIA, unlike the real life one in California that spans 50,000+ circuit miles from Southern California to half the Central Valley, deserts, High Sierra and even the Eastern Sierra, is considerably smaller since most of the UIA is already dominated by the Alto DWP. This is also the same with our version of Eversource, as that is considerably smaller than the real life one that covers all of New England, with the exception of Vermont, Rhode Island, and Maine.

SCE in the UIA includes:

  • 75% of Porterville (the other 25% is Alto DWP near the Alewife city line)
  • Elwood on Elwood Island and East Elwood on Alto Island
  • Select unincorporated communities on Unincorporated Island

Eversource in the UIA includes:

  • Nutfield Island
  • Future Manchester Island
  • Future Cambridge Island, including Boston
  • Future Minehattan Island

Please contact those utilities directly with your requests to Alto City Hall in game ONLY. These are in fact REAL utilities, so please ONLY call or reach out to them if you have a real life issue or emergency that you need to address right away, even as they don't mind getting some attention here in Minecraft!

Regarding our water systems

For all municipal water systems within the UIA, including the Alto Aquaduct along the Alto Springs Causeway, otherwise known as I-70, all of those systems are handled by the Alto DWP. Please contact us directly at 456-ALTO-DWP within the city, or 456-ADWP-MWS outside of the city if you have any water issues.
